Since its inception in 1991, Koster has been at the forefront of counting disc technology, evolving its products in response to the changing textures of banknotes and the emergence of new materials such as tax stamps, self-adhesive labels, plastics, and cardboard. This innovation has led to the development of counting discs capable of handling materials ranging from 30 g/m² to 500 g/m² and accommodating sizes from the largest sheets down to the smallest dimensions of 9 x 32 mm. Koster's technology ensures precise counting along either the corner or side edge of the material, all while maintaining the integrity of the paper without leaving any marks.

Recognizing a gap in the market for counting machines that could match the performance of their advanced counting discs, Koster began manufacturing their own line of counting machines for industrial applications in 2007, officially launching them in 2019. These machines were developed to address the shortcomings of existing market options and are designed to integrate seamlessly with Koster's counting mechanisms.

FYI: Koster is the only provider in the world that offers other machine manufacturers the option of integrating counting systems into their systems without having to implement the Koster control system.
